GoMovies/123Movies Unveils New Anime Streaming Platform

GoMovies, the titan of movie streaming, has unveiled its latest venture: Animehub. This new sibling site sets sail to become the ultimate haven for anime aficionados, promising a treasure trove of animated delights. However, as with any voyage into uncharted waters, it’s sure to raise eyebrows among copyright guardians.

Pirated video streaming platforms are experiencing a surge in popularity. Their user-friendly on-demand viewing options present a compelling alternative to traditional P2P file-sharing, once the dominant force in online piracy.

Among these platforms, GoMovies stands out as a crowd favorite. Despite undergoing rebranding and numerous domain changes, it has managed to amass a loyal user base numbering in the millions over the past eighteen months.

But GoMovies isn’t content with just its current success. Today, we learn of its latest endeavor.

Operating under the domain Gostream.is, the site has recently launched a new offshoot aimed at anime enthusiasts. Dubbed Animehub.to, this spinoff is being heavily promoted on GoMovies, with the site’s operators setting their sights on establishing it as the premier destination for streaming anime content.

According to a source connected to GoMovies, there has been a significant demand from users for anime content. Anime has historically been a substantial niche on file-sharing platforms, and this trend extends to streaming services as well.

While GoMovies could have easily integrated anime content into its existing platform, the owners have opted for a different approach.

An insider informed TorrentFreak that by creating a separate anime site, GoMovies aims to attract more visitors. This strategy not only improves search engine rankings but also allows for a more tailored experience for anime enthusiasts, with dedicated categories and release schedules.

Undoubtedly, anime copyright holders will view this initiative unfavorably, but GoMovies is no stranger to legal pressure.

Earlier this year, the US Ambassador to Vietnam urged the local government to pursue criminal charges against those involved with 123movies, the site’s previous incarnation. Additionally, the MPAA included the site in its recent list of notorious pirate platforms.

Despite the scrutiny, it appears that GoMovies is undeterred and remains committed to its current trajectory, although there are rumblings of yet another rebranding effort on the horizon.
